Coming Soon... Women-Only Ride-Sharing Service
An all-new ride sharing service is about to launch in Victoria (late Feb 2017) which will be Australia's first women-only service; driven by women, for women and children.

Thanks to the likes of Uber, the ride-sharing phenomenon is strong in Australia; with many switching from traditional yellow taxis to riding the Uber bandwagon.
However it has not been smooth sailing, with the latest news questioning driver and passengers safety as well as passenger privacy which has also been called into question on more than one occasion. Conducted research results have also showed that when asked, majority of women and young girls travelling in a car driven by a male did not feel safe, hence the opportunity for a women-only 'Uber' service.
A new ride-sharing start-up business called SheSafe is offering just that! It is an Uber-style service with a difference. It's run by women, for women. Its point of difference is that it offers women-only drivers and women (& children) only passengers i.e. no males.
The business is all about providing a safe travel environment for women drivers, women passengers and young girls. All drivers will have had a thorough background check, including a police check and be issued with a Working With Children Certificate.
From a driver's point of view, being a part of SheSafe allows a woman to have another stream of income, choose her own hours and be her own boss- something that might suit mothers with kids.
Founder Emma Buchanan wanted to also ensure that customers are aware that creating this service has nothing to do with sexism or being discriminatory towards anyone.

SheSafe will be launching at the end of February 2017 in Victoria, with other states rolling out throughout the remainder of the year.
