ASTON MARTIN DB11 Gets Convertible Version in 2018: The Aston Martin Volante
Aston Martin will be adding a super stylish convertible version to their flagship model the DB11 called the Volante due here (hopefully) 2018.
The V8-powered grand tourer takes open top motoring to a whole new level. Instead of a metal folding roof which many car makers are now choosing as their option, Aston Martin has gone with a traditional fabric roof which is made up of eight layers.
The hood takes 14 seconds to electronically fold behind the rear seats and 16 seconds to raise, and can be operated with the ignition key at a standstill as well as on the move at up to 50kph.
The Volante shares the same light weight bonded structure that also underpins the DB11 coupe, and the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine can sprint 0-100kmh in 4.1 seconds.
Inside includes leather interior with Alcantara headlining and new leather door and centre console inserts. Heated seats, front and rear parking sensors as well as a 360-degree surround view parking camera is also fitted.
Release date and pricing is not yet confirmed however with the DB11 coupe in the high $400k we expect the drop top to be priced north of this.
