G65 Final Edition: Mercedes-AMG Ultimate G Wagen SUV Special Limited Edition

Mercedes-AMG has just revealed this week a final edition of the long serving Mercedes G-class, the ‘G65 Final Edition’.

Just when you thought the G-class was at its peak, a special edition has been created as the ultimate send off to the iconic SUV.

Limited to just 65 units, the Final Edition starts from a whopping $466k and features numerous equipment and cosmetic revisions to make it stand out from the ‘regular’ G63.

Final Edition includes 21-inch light-alloy wheels finished in bronze, silver brake calipers and silver AMG Sport trim strips along the sides. Matte-bronze accents also adorn the front bash plate, bumper trims, mirrors, spare wheel cover and grille surround.

Inside, the G65 Final Edition is fitted with the ‘Designo Exclusive’ package which includes black nappa leather with quilted inserts and carbon-fibre-look side bolsters, carbon-fibre trim elements, a nappa leather AMG Performance flat-bottomed steering wheel, along with ventilated front seats.

The muscular G65 Final Edition SUV is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, pumping out 463kW. Mercedes-AMG claims it can sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds.

We sadly will not see the G65 here in Australia as it is only available in left hand drive. Half glass full though, we still have the AMG G63 with its 420kW and a twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 to choose from – it's all good!
