2018 Range Rover Sport Facelift Details Including All New Plug-In Hybrid EV Model
Land Rover has revealed the facelifted Range Rover Sport for 2018, including an exciting new PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) model.
Currently one of our favourite luxury SUV’s on the market, the update model maintains the muscular stance we love and now includes cosmetic changes to the front with new, slim LED headlights that have squarer LED daytime-running lights (as seen in the all new sporty Velar).
In the rear there are large, square tailpipes housed in the new bumper design, along with a new spoiler design, which apparently will reduce dirt build up on the rear screen.
Inside revisions include new trim choices, ambient lighting, and fantastic new dual-screen setup on the centre dash, again as we saw first introduced in the new Velar. The system allows for the upper screen to be angled to off-set glare, while both screens are responsive to pinch and swipe gestures just like your smartphone.
Biggest addition to the range will be the PHEV model. A first for Land Rover!
The plug-in Range Rover Sport receives the P400e badge, and combines a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an 85kW electric motor, capable of 0-100kph in approx. 6.7 seconds. That’s ridiculously fast for a SUV of this size, claimed fuel consumption is rated at 2.8L/100km combined, making it the most fuel-efficient Land Rover.
Pricing is to start $95,100 for the base SD4 S, with the PHEV model still to be confirmed. We will keep you posted when more details become available.
