Meet The Lamborghini Urus - The Fastest Super SUV in The World Arriving in Australia in 2018
Wow! Lamborghini has created it, a SUV with a twist! The first Super Sport Utility Vehicle for those who want the super sports car soul mixed with the practicality of an SUV.
We have been watching like a hawk the development of the all new Lamborghini Urus and now that we have seen the final product there is no denying the supercar DNA. The Urus body is instantly recognizable as a Lamborghini. The sharp angular creases, cutting edges, and swooping roofline give it a silhouette like no other SUV.
Urus, which is named after a fighting bull, will be the new segment benchmark with regards to power, performance and driving dynamics whilst providing daily usability.
Based on the same platform as the Audi Q7, (Lamborghini is owned by the VW group), Lamborghini then sprinkled their ‘design and engineering’ magic to create exceptional performance and handling.
It uses a 478kw 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, driven through an eight-speed automatic gearbox and complex all-wheel-drive system featuring active torque vectoring and four-wheel steering. The Urus also gets carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive air suspension and active roll stabilization.
As well as completing the benchmark 0-100kph sprint in approx. 3.6 seconds, Lamborghini claims the Urus will do 0-200kph in 12.8 seconds and hit 305kph flat out. CRIKEY!!!!
Inside the Urus you’ll fit five, although photos detail the four bucket seat configuration (which may suit some). As expected the inside does echo the outside design. Urus offers a low but comfortable seating position, with the entire cabin focused around the driver.
Two standard-fit touchscreens feature on the dash with the upper display managing functions like media, navigation and phone connectivity. The lower screen provides access to the climate control and seat heating, while also offering a keyboard for inputting information. The system is supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Urus will also feature a host of driver assistance systems, including autonomous emergency braking, a top-view camera and even a trailer coupling mode.
For those who are mag wheel crazy, wheel options range from 21 to 23 inches, and can even be fitted with specially-developed Pirelli all-season or winter tyres.
Set to arrive in Australia Autumn 2018, the new Lamborghini SSUV will start from $390,000 plus on-road costs.
