Audi To Take On Mercedes CLA by 2020

Mercedes-Benz is currently enjoying huge success with the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake, which run on the A-Class platform. This reign won't continue for long, if Audi have anything to do with it, as they are planning on taking a slice out of this niche market.

Audi is working on a new Audi A3 Coupe that will offer genuine competition to the new 4-door coupe segment. The work-in-progress applies to the all new A3 family car range, including the next Hatchback, Sportback and Sedan which is set to be joined by a sleek new 4-door Coupe. The line-up is aimed to be completed by 2020, with the new addition giving Audi a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz CLA.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA currently starts from $60,000 and the Audi A3 from $41,000 however expect a price hike over the regular A3 products, as the new Coupe will be targeting the executive class enjoyed by big brother, the A4.
