A NEW Range Rover to take on BMW X6
** UPDATE! Land Rover releases more photos of the Land Rover Velar.
The new Range Rover Velar has been released to the world at the Geneva Motor Show, sitting between the Evoque and Range Rover Sport, creating direct competition to the Porsche Macan and BMW X6.
Photos show a new design, with the most noticeable being the roofline that has a very coupe like silhouette. This SUV is effectively a RRS Coupe albeit 5cm shorter.
Inside showcases the latest in Land Rover’s design language - along with several new technologies that are new to Range Rover. The centerpiece of the front cabin is a triple-screen set-up on the dash. It can incorporate a 12.3-inch TFT virtual cockpit display, as seen on the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, but the accompanying centre touchscreen lights up and tilts forward when the vehicle is started up.
Sales will start mid-year with pricing for Velar range starting from $70,300+ to $135,000+

A teaser from Landrover of the new Range Rover Velar
So far only a single teaser photo from Landrover displays the Velar from behind, showcasing a three-quarter-length panoramic glass roof and a shoulder line that tapers aggressively towards the vehicle’s rear end. The tail-lights appear to use LED tech to deliver a 3D effect. We have been able to find artist impressions of how the car could end up looking in production.
