#TBT Electric Vehicle - A Hot Topic Even Back in 1967!
50 years ago Ford unveiled a battery-powered concept car at the Geneva Motor Show. The year was 1967 and this electrified car was the Ford Comuta, a tiny concept with dimensions of half the size of a regular family car at the time. Fascinating to read that engineers back then were already thinking of alternate fuels to power cars.
The Comuta reached out at a mere 60 km/h, and could travel for approximately 60km on a full charge. Back then the president of Ford told journalists that "cars like the Comuta could be available in five to ten years." We love his optimism!
Fast forward to today and the automaker's dream is now a reality with the battery-powered Ford Focus, capable of reaching speeds required for busy highways.
