TOYOTA FT-4X CONCEPT SUV REVEALED AT THE NEW YORK MOTOR SHOW 2017
Toyota has revealed a new concept SUV at the New York Motor Show called the FT-4X, which stands for ‘Future-Toyota-Four-Wheel Drive Crossover’.

The boxy crossover has been designed for the young millennial generation, linking them to the iconic ‘original’ FJ Cruiser that started it all.

The new crossover concept was created by Toyota’s Calty Design Research team in California and Toyota is very keen to stress the FT-4X’s street cred is more of an urban run-around, though it may have some traits from its big sibling rugged off-roaders like the Land Cruiser of today.
We are guessing it won’t be doing too much off road!

Being a comparable size to a Range Rover Evoque, the actual floorplan is the same as used in the recently released Toyota CH-R.
The concept has a lot of WOW features such as 18-inch wheels, removable window glass and extensive underbody protection.
Inside the cabin there is also dedicated “wet zone” and novel features such as removable ceiling-mounted torch, removable multimedia system, and a sleeping bag that functions as a centre armrest and water bottles built into the passenger door trim.

What we love, apart from the boxy shape, is the inclusion of a GoPro camera built into the side of the drivers’ wing mirror, perfect for road trip videos!

The Gen-Y city-dwellers, who typically make unplanned getaways, are sure to love this new SUV. No date of release has been made as yet so we will keep you posted as news on the new SUV unfolds.
