All New PEUGEOT 3008 - 2017 Car of The Year (Europe) - Arrives in Australia with French Flair
Fancy a new medium size SUV, but with a twist?
Peugeot has just launched the all-new 3008, and this time it is pure avant-garde.
Gone are the ‘not so pretty’ looks of the previous model; it has now morphed into a stylish five-seat SUV. Launched with great fanfare in Europe in January 2017, we have had to wait patiently here in Oz for the new model to arrive due to sheer demand back in France.
Taking out the coveted 2017 Car of the Year in Europe, beating other new models like the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, this award has obviously helped kick start sales which has already hit more than 200,000 and there’s no sign of demand slowing.
The new Peugeot 3008 SUV will compete with the likes of the Mazda CX-5, Volkswagen Tiguan and Toyota RAV4, although the design is far bolder than these other models.
The streamlined shape of the exterior is enhanced by a gloss Black Diamond roof, with the rear of the car continuing this innovative style with a gloss black rear panel incorporating Peugeot’s signature ‘claw effect’ LED lighting.
Sit in the driver’s seat, and it is here where you will notice the attention to detail of the new designed digital dash, in which Peugeot call the ‘i-Cockpit®’ (includes satin chrome toggle switches inspired by the world of aviation).
The steering wheel is compact and there is a large 8.0" capacitive touch screen resembling a tablet, sitting in the centre of the dashboard. There is also a 12.3" head-up digital display which can be completely configured and personalized, and brings together all that the driver could want within their field of vision.
As expected, the new SUV is very well specified with auto tailgate, climate control, navigation, a huge array of active safety features such as driver attention alert, lane keeping and blind spot monitoring.
Priced from $39,990 drive away, the new SUV is competitively priced to compete within the busy medium SUV segment.
