Spotted: Mercedes-Benz ALL NEW 2018 G-Class

Mercedes-Benz has built more than 300,000 G-Class since 1979, with the last few years of the popular SUV celebrating huge sales as footballers, rappers and reality TV stars choosing the high rider as their preferred form of transport.

Now it’s time for an all-new model to start the trend all over again!

Photos are circulating the net of the all-new Mercedes G-Class, albeit wearing full camouflage; you can see the distinctive silhouette of the rugged off roader has been maintained. Expanding in all directions, the new model will be more spacious and also safer with new technologies you expect from the 3-point star.

Mercedes have mentioned that there are only five carry-over parts from the current model - door handle, the washer nozzle for the headlights, the tow bar, interior sunshades and the spare rear-wheel cover.

The new and improved G-Class successor will be launched at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January, but we have been lucky to glimpse at what the interior will look like.

Inside looks like it is taken from the E-Class, including the two 12.3" displays replacing the old school gauges on the previous model. The available information on these displays can be configured by the driver, but there is also the option of showing the information in a "Classic", "Sport" or "Progressive" style. Nice to see the grab handle is still right in front of the front passenger for off road driving!

Mercedes-Benz will offer Exclusive Interiors for the new G-Class, including seven colour combinations like black with platinum white, yacht blue and classic red. Luxurious Nappa leather is used for covering door trims, centre console, instrument panel, with diamond-pattern quilting on the seats.

More information of the new G-Class will be posted soon; we cannot wait for the world launch in Detroit.
