All New Baby Benz: Mercedes-Benz A-Class Arrives In August

What a design evolution! Who remembers the first Mercedes Benz A-Class back in the 90’s, the one that kind of looked like a minivan-meets-SUV-meets-egg?

We are thrilled to report that the all-new 2018 model bears no resemblance to the 90’s model and happy to confirm it does provide a more mature evolution of the current model A-Class.

This 4th generation model looks very grown up! It is noticeably longer than the current model, slightly wider and taller and loses the various creases in the body styling. 

Outside, the new car design carries over lovely details such as the diamond grill at the front and the same silhouette (of the current model). The new front has what Merc call a ‘predator face’, (almost serious looking), and we have to admit we love the new bluff nose and slim line headlights.

Inside, the car picks up design from its older siblings. The new widescreen digital display looks futuristic amazing! Housing driving dials, navigation and many other car functions, it really is setting a benchmark for its competitors.

The German brand has also introduced a ‘Siri’ like control for your car, ‘Hey Mercedes’ will answer and control functions as requested, includes inputting sat-nav directions to changing the 64-colour ambient mood lighting.

With more space inside, Mercedes has answered the request for more rear legroom, and the interior looks very luxurious with high end leather, stitching, ambient lighting, and chrome highlights featured on switchgear.

Engines will be fairly similar to the current range, although expect the tweaking for more power and less fuel consumption.

The new A-Class is expected to launch here in August with the A200 model first, followed by other models later in the year.

We predict that Mercedes-Benz will have another success on their hands when this baby Merc arrives.
