ALL New 2020 Volkswagen Golf MK8 Spotted!

We have been waiting to see what the next generation Volkswagen Golf Mk8 is going to look like for months and now we have our first glance!

Due to meet the public at this year’s September Frankfurt Motor Show, looks like the reveal won’t be as powerful now that a recent happy snapper shot the all new model whilst grabbing a bite at McDonald’s.

At first glance, the new Golf Mk8 will be lower and wider, featuring an evolution of the company’s global MQB architecture. Slimmer designed headlights are featured which are now the signature LED daytime running light set up across the Volkswagen range.

Externally it is actually hard to say what else is different from the current model, the grille, lower air intakes and window lines looks unchanged, though there are more prominent character lines on the side of the car.

As mentioned, the new Golf will evolve on the current MQB platform, with VW commenting that weight savings will be made between 40-50kgs. We are also expecting a comprehensive suite of autonomous driving technologies with next to no physical switch gear in the cabin, exciting!

Volkswagen’s head of compact cars indicated that the new Mk8 will have more software than ever before.

The eighth generation Golf range is expected to launch during the third quarter of 2020.
