Mercedes-AMG GT Supercar Grows Family-Friendly
The AMG GT family has just grown.
Combine the impressive performance of an AMG supercar with the practicality of an elegant four-door car and boom! Meet the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, launched at the Geneva Motor Show.
Clearly recognisable as a member of the AMG GT family, the new 4-Door Coupé follows the design of the super GT coupe, taking its striking proportions with curved surfaces and muscular body and transforming it into a four-door version.
The front view with its long bonnet and two power domes leaves no doubt that this is a member of the AMG GT family.
Clearly targeting the Porsche Panamera (and Jaguars F-Type 4 door concept), the stunning Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupé will be available in three models. An in-line six-cylinder petrol engine producing 320kw, or the AMG 4.0-litre V8 Bi-turbo motor available in the tweaked ‘S’ Model - 470kw, and a less tweaked version still producing a thumping 430kw.
Inside you can see the similarities from the GT Coupe with a low coupe roof line however there is more carry over design coming from the CLS Coupe, which is not a bad thing. This includes features like the turbine-like air vents that change from blue to red as you adjust the temperature.
There is also talk of an EV version of the new sport limo, with production scheduled for 2020; we look forward to this new model.
