BMW Reveals The All New X2 Small SUV To The World
Here it is, the all new small SUV from BMW – The X2.
The new model completes the ‘X’ SUV range to a total of six with this bold new model targeting a young and young at heart audience.
Looking very similar to the concept car we first saw in 2016 at the Paris Motor Show, the new SUV shares the same platform of its siblings the X1 and 2 Series Active Tourer.
With a length, width and height of 4360mm, 1821mm and 1526mm respectively, the X2 is the same width but 49mm shorter and 69mm lower than the latest generation X1. Both cars have a 2670mm wheelbase.
Sporting a short bonnet that allows the base of the windscreen to sit well forward to create more interior space, the side panel sits high (with smaller windows) to give the SUV a muscular coupe look. Squared-off wheel arches front and rear reminds you it’s a SUV.
#TBT – Note the BMW badge appearing within the C-pillar, a detail that was seen in earlier BMW coupé models.
The interior of the X2 shares many characteristics with the X1. Standard features include black panel instruments and a multifunction steering wheel, but buyers will have to pay extra for the optional 8.8in touch-sensitive iDrive panel and a head-up display. We LOVE the ‘X’ puddle lamp, so handy.
Due for release early 2018, pricing is yet to be confirmed however we assume this small SUV will be up competing against the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3.
