All New Toyota RAV4 Due in Australia 2019
Next year’s Toyota RAV4 has been unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, showing us an entirely new look inspired by the FT-AC Concept we saw at the LA Motor Show last year.
Now in its fifth-generation, the original RAV4 was the benchmark for mid-size SUV’s to compete with. The new model measures a similar length to the current although an increased (+30mm) wheelbase ensures the car has more interior space. Toyota says the interior has been refined, with a more premium and modern feel for passengers.
The new dash layout features the tablet trending touchscreen which is sure to feature Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto. There are up to five USB ports on board, and a wireless charging port, although availability on the Australian model is yet to be confirmed.
Outside the new Toyota has clearly taken inspiration from the FT-AC Concept. Looks are almost tough and ready for off-road! With gloss-black highlights up front, the popular contrast roof option paint, and large alloy wheels, the new RAV4 looks good.
With so much choice in the mid-size SUV segment, will this new 5th gen RAV4 do what it did back in the beginning? We wait to see.
Due for an Australian release Q1, 2019.
