Self-Parking Slippers - Nissan Leaf Humanises Technology

It seems people are becoming a little stressed about the thought of their cars one day potentially being able to drive themselves, so Nissan Japan has created a fun way to raise awareness of this technology and installed it in the humble slipper.

The automaker will allow guests at a Japanese hotel to try out ‘self-parking slippers’ in March.

A high tech homage to a Japanese tradition, the slippers (and cushions), wheel themselves to the hotel’s entrance upon the press of a button. The fun initiative was designed to showcase the self-parking technology used in the new Nissan LEAF electric vehicle in October 2017, to help people see the convenience of this technology (in a non-life threatening way!).

What are your thoughts? Are you worried that automated driving technology will take away the motoring experience you currently enjoy?
