Meet Rolls-Royce First SUV - The Cullinan - Due To Arrive in Australia 2019
The luxury SUV the motoring world has been waiting for, the very first SUV from Rolls-Royce, is here – meet the Cullinan.
The British luxury motorcar maker has been building sedans and grand tourers for 114-years and when they decided to create an SUV, it was considered very controversial.
Named after the largest diamond ever discovered, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan should arrive in Australia early 2019, with a starting price of $685,000.
The new car sits on the same full aluminium space-frame as its Phantom sibling measuring in at 5341mm long, 2164mm wide and towering 1835mm, the Cullinan certainly lets you know it has arrived.
Looking at press pics we are finding it a little tricky to say we love the looks. Front on, yes it is distinctive RR, but from the side the ‘three box’ design is not so warming. Rolls-Royce design boss, Giles Taylor, stated they wanted to make the Cullinan's styling provocative. Ensuring the new SUV was like no other.
What's for sure is that buyers will be experiencing the most luxurious SUV ever with the new Cullinan. Inside, it mirrors the interior of the amazing Phantom, including a tasteful mix of wood, leather and metal. The Cullinan’s interior features a touchscreen infotainment system that helps slash the button count on the dash, reducing clutter and providing a simple clean cockpit design.
Other tech includes a four-camera system that helps boost all-round visibility with its 'helicopter' view.
There is also an option of ‘Night Vision’ and ‘Vision Assist’ that can help the driver identify both pedestrians and wildlife in low level light conditions. Wireless charging is also available for phones and up to five USB chargers.
For those who love outdoor activities the Cullinan offers what Rolls-Royce call the ‘Viewing Suite’, two rear-facing rear seats that fold out to help watch sporting events, like the polo.
We certainly cannot wait to see the Rolls-Royce Cullinan arrives and experience the new luxe SUV in the flesh.
