How does the Her Drive service work?

Imagine if you had a best friend who’s a car expert. If you were buying a car, you’d probably:

  • ask them about what kind of car to buy

  • invite them to come car shopping with you

  • get advice on negotiating the best deal

It’s just like that. We help you buy your car, saving you hours of research and giving you confidence at the dealers. Check out our services page for more details.

How long does a car shopping session take and what does it include?

A car shopping session typically takes about half a day, depending on the locations of the dealerships we intend to visit. The car shopping includes:

  • preparing a schedule of appointments

  • meeting you at a dealership

  • liaising with dealers on your behalf

  • making sure you’re getting your questions answered

  • accompanying you on test drives

  • helping you decide which car is best for your needs

Do you help negotiate a car deal?

Yes. One thing many women dread is locking in a final deal, so we’re here to help negotiate if you need it. (Some women love it and don’t need us at all.)

We’ve got strong relationships with dealers and we know when they’re giving you the best offer and when there is room to move.

Will you help me organise car finance?

Yes of course. If you need a car loan, we have connections with brokers who can arrange the right finance plan for your needs. We receive a very small cut of the broker’s commission from the lender.

What areas of Melbourne do you service?

We visit dealers located within a 50 kilometre radius of Melbourne. If you live beyond that area and want to meet us at a Melbourne car dealer, we are happy to work with you.

How do you make your money?

We make most of our money from:

  • our $680 service fee

  • referral fees from dealers

The referral fees we receive from dealers do not impact the price you pay for your car. We also receive very small commissions from our car finance brokers and transactions on trade-ins of existing customer cars.

Do you have preferred car dealers?

Not at all. While we have great relationships with car dealers we are under no obligation or prior arrangement. We always recommend the best car for your needs, not for our bottom line. We’re transparent in all our relationships with our dealers and our customers.

Who from the Her Drive team will take me car shopping?

The vast majority of time it with be Keith joining you. But, if you’ve chosen a car that is Leonara’s speciality you will see Leonara for that visit.

What if I have a small budget?

No problem at all. We help customers with budgets of all sizes. You could be shopping for a budget first car or a brand new luxury vehicle. Our service remains the same regardless of your budget.

Do you only help people buy brand new cars? What about second-hand cars?

We do help you buy a second-hand car, but only through dealers and only with standard warranty applied for peace of mind. We don’ help you buy a second-hand car privately.

Do you help me trade in my old car?

Yes, from time to time we help customers trade in their old/existing cars, and we charge a small fee for our time. Chat to us to see how we can help.
